Washington Lake with Stella Lake attached is a great smallmouth and largemouth factory! This body of water has gained popularity over the recent years for its better average sized smallmouth. If you get into the largemouth also be prepared for a better average size. With the new pressure from the Highschool and Weekend Warriors series - it can fish difficult at times. One tactics that seems to work even in the toughest of occasions is to find some mid-depth humps with an abundance of grass and throw a bladed jig over the tops, sides, and breaks of the hump. You will be surprised how many bites you will get if you pattern that around the lake, or even on sporadic cuts and dives in the weed-lines near points. This lake can be extremely fun or very frustrating - but definitely give it a try!

Flipped some jigs around what was left for weeds. Finding green weeds defiantly helped hold fish. A lot of the weeds are dying fast. Water temp was around 55°-58° in most areas of the lake. Picked up a few on cranks in that 5'-6' of water range.

Caught a few early on a topwater early but spent most of the time throwing some hair around. Water was really warm a few weeks ago but these cool nights have dropped the water temp. Get out on those big flats, the smallmouth are roaming the shallows.
