Fished the BFL Reginal on Lewis Smith Lake as a co-angler. It was my 1st time fishing this lake which if you are looking for great spotted bass fishing add to your bucket list. Day 1 started late due to a fog delay, so we started close to the ramp near docks in about 18 feet of water. Started with a drop shot and hooked up to a 13 in spot which was in the slot. We moved to another area where the water had 10 feet of visibility and used the drop shot on standing timber, large rock and gravel bottom. Had a topwater walking bait ready just in case schoolers came up. Caught my 1st keeper on a Strike King Sexy Dawg in chrome along with several slot fish within 30 minutes. Continued to throw a Drop shot and caught several more slot fish. second keeper came off the corner of a dock in about 8 feet of water using a Green Pumpkin 1/2 oz Strike King Structure Jig with a trimmed skirt with a 5" Yamamoto twin tail grub trailer in green pumpkin. Fish hit it on the fall. Final keeper came off of the same dock I caught my 1st fish of the day 10 minutes before weigh-in flipping a 1/4oz Woo Tungsten Ned head and a Roboworm Ned worm. Did not catch a keeper that was not in the slot on day 2 but caught 11 spots in the 14" to 15" length. 5 largest fish weighed 11lbs 4 oz. Only difference between day 1 and 2 was I caught 6 on the dropshot and the other 5 were caught throwing a Strike King Hybrid Hunter Shallow in Oyster color at schooling fish out deep.
