Absolutely tough day on Smith! The bite was very lethargic. I caught one on a DT 14 that was a short (14 inch) and another on a spinnerbait that was a short (14 1/4 inch). The water is still at winter pool and between 50-52 degrees depending on where you are on the lake.

Spent about 7 hours on the water fishing a typical winter pattern. Fished rather slow and methodical dragging and popping a jig along rocky points. Love the Beast Coast Hybrid jig in 5/16. Sexy Texan color with a paca craw bit down for a trailer. Best 5 went about 12lbs. He’s a nice one from the day caught on the jig. Jerk bait and bladed jig caught a few too.
