Hit the water early, in hopes to an early morning top water bite. Largemouth are on beds currently in Central Wisconsin. Gills were tight to the bank and seen activity so I began throwing a KVD Sexy Frog parallel to shore line. I picked up a few males but as it got lighter outside I was able to locate several beds in close proximity of each other around lilly pads. I backed off the area and let it rest and decided to upgrade size of bait to Heddon Zara Spook. On the very first cast after changing lures I threw 20 ft past and started to walk the dog. As the bait was about 1/2 way through the area of beds it appeared several bass exploded on the spook. I lowered the rod tip and made a sweeping hook set! I though at first I had a Biggin but after a few seconds I could feel them fighting each other. I knew then I had multiple fish. Female went 3.1 lbs, Male went 1.8 lbs. Zara Spook continues to stand the test of time!

Working spawning LGM Bass with Neko Rig. Great experience to be able to watch Big Girls walk away with your bait and crack them! VMC Neko Terminal Tackle is my go to for this presentation tipped with a 6.5” Trick Worm! She went 6.5 lbs @ 21.75”.
