May 20th I headed out on the lake for a practice day for the upcoming tournament for KBF and EKF the following 2 days. This was my first time on this body of water and heard there could be some spawning smallmouth. Between the clouds, wind, and forgetting my sunglasses it was very hard to see any beds deeper than 3 foot. I still covered 14 miles of water searching for beds mostly but also trying some deeper areas. Only finding 2 locked bed fish and one random fish it was a tough day. But the ones I did catch were on the STIX rods number 1 finesse stix. Using a Rabid Baits darter paired with a drop zone tackle rattling drop shot weight. It worked great!
