TechniqueHover/Mid-StrollingSeasonSummerStructureReefFish are very very hard to get to eat right now. Gotta cover a ton of water to get bit. It seems like throwin a minnow on their head works best. Also getting bit on drop shotted tumble weeds as well. Can still catch em this time of year. But definitely much harder. TIGHT LINES!!

TechniqueHover/Mid-StrollingSeasonSummerStructureReefFish are in a weird postspawn stage now. And for the most part they want nothing to do with your bait. Though if you happen to run across a feeding window hold on cause it's wild. That's what I ran across this morning and fish were coming 10+ feet off bottom to eat my bait. One of the craziest things i've ever experienced. Caught a ton of fish on that scoping setup and I've had a really hard time doing that out here so it works. Also spending some time working shallow breaks with topwater which doesn't produce many bites but they are quality when you get one.

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureReedsHonestly a tough weekend out here. Still had 23lbs but you had to work for every bite. Typically fish should be on boulders. But there was a recent crawfish hatch which has fish scattered shallow eating them. They were spitting up crawfish everywhere. The fish are scattered everywhere right now. In hindsight I really should have thrown a tube but I never did. If you are going out here definitely downsize baits because they are very finicky.

TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureBouldersFished the MN Bass Nation Team Trail event on Mille Lacs. What a fishery. We planned on targeting deep boulders exclusively but the fish just would not cooperate on that pattern. We caught a few that way, but with mostly flat calm sunny conditions we stumbled on a shallower bite. Ned rigs were the ticket in 4-10FT of water. Best areas were larger rock flats with some larger boulders present, but most of the bigger fish were not holding tight to those boulders. Finished the tournament with 21.34lbs with the biggest fish 5.1lbs

TechniqueDamiki RigSeasonSummerStructureRock PileFished the MNBN Team Trail event and finished in third place with 24.5 lbs for 5 fish. There’s a ton of fish in Mille Lacs but they can be finicky. 12-16 foot flats seemed to be best for us this tournament, livescoping with a damiki and a ned. It’s all about being at the right place at the right time.
