With the Big Bass Splash happening on Guntersville, I decided to go hit Nickajack up. I started scanning around and found a few schools. They were really weird. It seemed that you would catch one fish and then they would shut down. Never really could get them to fire. Best pattern seemed to be on stumps or standing timber with a drop shot for me. I had some catfish bites on spoons and it was a constant bite. Bass would leave when the spoon came down (saw on Active Target). I hit a standing tree that I found last year and caught a good number off it. With some bigs getting off at the boat or breaking me off by wrapping around the tree. I seemed to get better bites on the worms I soaked in bait fuel the night before. (Tip: Put a 10 or so worms in a zip lock and marinate in Bait Fuel overnight. Restocking you get low as the day goes) Bite did get better when Nickajack dam started pulling water around 1pm.

The Nickajack dam was rolling pretty hard. Threw this spoon by the wall into the harder part of the current and the drums were hungry.
