The river was stained, and fishing was tough. With all the baitfish around, the bass had plenty to eat. We saw bait balls everywhere. When one would blow up, we would cast past the ball and use the jerk bait to come through the bait ball. This was remarkably successful, and that is how we caught all our fish.

The Lew’s Mach 2 spinning reels was great on the water that day, I remember it vividly. It gave me the power to cast into a brush pile, and BAM!, a fish caught on a good 3.5 pounder. This fish fought and i caught it. I was using a simple 6 in worm and caught a huge fish. Tight lines!
