When the wind kicks up I have been finding a spinner bait to be a great search tool when they are not schooling. Creek channels and main lake rip rap banks with grass have been producing solid numbers of fish. If I encounter short strikes I will drop shot or fluke for them.

Was fishing for smallies and tossed a fluke under a bridge. He nailed it when it hit the water. Missed him the first time and threw it right back in the same spot. He put up a heck of a fight on an ultra light rod and an Ark Gravity BFS reel. Didn’t see that in the list of gear to select though. Good reels for the price. Fluke action is where it’s at this time of year! Also caught a few smallies as well.
