I was twitching the jerk minnow very fast up to fish that I could see then when it got close to them I would kill it and let it fall right in front of them. They would either eat it on the fall or on the first twitch after I let it hit the bottom.

Found several nice smallies on the top of humps at Shackleton Shoals - the biggest over 5lbs. The fish were not incredibly active, so a lift and drop alternated with a slow retrieve was most effective at enticing bites. Depths of 6-11' were most effective, especially where rocks were present.

Started out the day on shallow flats in 4-6ft of water with swimbaits looking for prespawners feeding up like we had found them the past few weeks. Found a few fish that way, but had our best success in about 9ft of water around rock. slowly working jigs and a ned rig. Not a ton of bass (8 total) but the right ones. Finished the day with a 20.1lb bag for the best 5 with everything over 3.2lbs.. After the sun came up we saw at least 15 fish on beds, but that is not my deal so we moved on.

Need rigging on the down slope of humps where rocks and weeds met produced solid smallies across the bay immediately outside of South bay State launch.

Snapping and dragging bucktails (black, black/purple, black/blue) through weeds and weed edges produced several nice fish. Fish ranged in depth from 7' to 14'. All fish were caught in the bay outside of the South Bay state boat launch.

Leaving the dock at Southshore at about 7am, I worked weed edges just outside of the launch area in 8-12' of water. A light wind out of the west allowed me to drift along edges and use a mixture of drop shots and ned rigs to land several 4+ lbs bass. Most of the successful weed edges were those closest to rocks, and every fish caught was spitting out crawfish pieces when I netted them. Zman products in "the deal" were the most effective color on this day. The best 5 fish weighed in at 19.7 lbs - overall a good day.

Large perch were cruising around weed edges in 8-10' feeding on crawfish where weeds and rocks met. The Zman TRD CrawZ did a great job of getting the hits. Drifting along weed edges produced several perch over 11".

Hit the water early searching for weeds in depths below 12'. I found good weed growth in 8-11' and used side scan to identify clear breaks. Using locally made casting weights and The Hammer worm harnesses I found some cooperative walleye just after sunrise. There was a very light wind when the bite began, and as soon as it died down, it was over.
