White bass were prevalent near Hidden Falls Park in St. Paul during spawn. Though out-of-season fish were unfortunately biting as well, the white bass attacked near dusk on the 2nd ledge of the river, between 8’-14’ where the main current met back eddys. Try throwing a size 9 to size 13 shallow jerkbait with a straight retrieve.

Troll or hand jig a ned rig just where visibility of the bottom ends. Moving current was better than slow water. Purple or orange were both productive. Caught a few bass on other things, mainly a swimbait, but the ned rig was THE producer.
