Making long cast with a frog into submerged vegetation, lily pads and shaded areas worked well. Walking the frog quick with stopping after a few twitches was the best way to get them to bite. Punching in the duckweed right after a miss also helped get a few extra fish in the boat. Ripping a swim jig on the weed edges and through the lily pads produced well as well.

High water usually means get up in there. This outing was a little different. I found the fish up shallow but they didn’t want to get all the way up there. They were almost off the first “break.” Chucking a frog and swim jig around in the junk was a whole lot of fun though. Key per usual is finding the cleaner water.
