What You Need to Know About Fishing Potato Lake

Potato Lake, located in Northwest Wisconsin is a remote, 225-acre lake located in Washburn County near Crystal. It has a maximum depth of 20 feet. A popular fishing lake, anglers can access the water body using a public boat landing on the northeast corner of the lake off Public Street. Species present in the lake include panfish, northern pike, and largemouth bass. The bottom composition includes approximately 20% sand, 60% rock and gravel, and 20% muck making vegetation sparse in some areas of the lake. The lake does include the Chinese Mystery Snail, and invasive species which can cause increase in water clarity over time and potential changes to the lake ecology.
