Post-spawn fishing at this lake has a couple different populations of fish. One group goes offshore as soon as they're done spawning and the other group sticks around up shallow. Targeting bluegill beds in the shallows is a great strategy, along with topwater in the morning and evening. Fishing around shallow wood is never a bad bet either.

Bass fishing is very tough here in the summer. Your best bet is to cover the bank with topwater in the early morning/late evening and focus on fishing slow around laydowns or grass lines with jigs, Texas rigs, or weightless plastics like a wacky rig senko. Swim jigs will occasionally produce fish too. Most Bass are good-sized here and there are some giants, so the grind can be worth it.
