Ned Heads on grass edges create the most consistent summer bites out here in my experiences. Using sonar to locate hard spots along those edges is critical in locating schools of smallmouth (and largemouth as well).

Fish were held close to most points with weeds. Depth did not seem to matter as much, as long as weeds were present. Sun and wind helped. Any time the sun hid, the bite slowed way up. Water was dirty and the baits needed to work slow.
