Water temps 63-65 degrees, fishing is very good on main lake shallow points with rock in 3ft or less. Inside of the main lake points has also produced some good fish. Bass are actively feeding, use top water walking baits such as spooks and fast retrieving baits like lipless crankbaits and shallow diving square bills in these areas.

The 5 inch Whopper Plopper is a fun bait to throw around big bass. The bone color is a safe bet for most lakes in the Texas area. Change the speed of the retrieve to find out what the fish like. Most of the time you can reel this lure just fast enough to make the distinctive plopping noise to trigger a topwater explosions. Higher the water temperatures work best for the Whopper Plopper, but it can work through most of the fishing season.
