Submerged Vegetation
The recent cold front made for some unfavorable fishing conditions; high winds and freezing cold temperatures overnight lowered the water temperature to 50-52 degrees on Saturday. Bass were found inside the weed line on the Northern most end of the lake. Plenty of Bass were caught using an 3/8 ounce Zman Jackhammer in Green Pumpkin with a Green Pumpkin/White Yamamoto Zako trailer. Stay in 3-6 fow and cast into the lighter colored water towards the edge of the submerged vegetation. Weed out the pickerel and you have steady Bass action for hours.

Points
As of April 10th, the current water temp is hovering around 54 degrees. The afternoon bite (4pm-6pm) was fast and furious, a Rayburn Red Cordell Super Spot, 3” was the key to a two hour, 5 bag limit. Bass are staging and stacked up on drop offs getting ready to move up to the shallows to spawn. Slow roll a trap or jig up the drop off towards your boat. Tip: Keep your bait in the water as long as possible; fish will follow your bait to the boat and strike at the last second. If a fish misses, erratically move your bait and they’ll hit again.
