      Winter bass fishing can be tough. But with side-scan, a blade bait, and some hand warmers, you’ll be bagging smallies in no time! Pick yourself up a 3/8 oz Damiki Vault. For some reason gold works best. Launch anywhere on the Spokane River Arm, and just use your sidescan to find rock piles in water that is between 20’-50’. Each of these rock piles will most likely contain multiple nice smallmouth. Just drop the Damiki Vault straight down when you are over the rock pile and jig it up and down off of the bottom. Allow it to sit for 5-8 seconds, and then pull it up just enough to feel a couple flutters of the lure. Slowly lower it back down and give it a few seconds. The bite feels like a wet rag on the end of your line. It isn’t a hard thump, more of a soft mushy bite. Set the hook and you are in business. Good luck! This technique works anytime from December through April. 👍🏼

      The smallmouth bite has been awesome in the morning and night. KVD Dreamshot or roboworm on a 1 foot dropshot in key. fish it slow and they will go nuts on it

      Punching submerged grass in 15-23 feet of water. Keeping rod tip low and slowly working through and past the cover. using 3/4 oz weight pegged

      Water level is very high. Up 3-4 ft from last week. Hard to believe I know. I fished flooded brush with Topwater and cullshad. I fished the banks with a texas rigged bang stick. Caught 9 fish. Biggest was 4.4 pounds. Average was 2 pounds. Good day as fish were active and feeding all morning.

      SSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWW DAY! I started at 7 and was skunked until 1:00. Fished a new area of the Spokane Arm between Porcupine Bay and Fort Spokane. I certainly do not think it was the area though as I did not even see a Bass. Sonar showed them staging out in about 20-30 ft. Then a switch flipped, found and caught this one. Followed by 3 more.       This not only works pre-spawn but all year, working from the shallow end of docks flip your wacky rig. Most bites happen on the drop but in case that doesn't happen have it sit on the bottom and give it a slight tap. If a bite doesn't happen by the second tap reflip.

      Day of the Dinks! After being nearly shutout last time, fishing was significantly better. Fished up river from Porcupine Bay. Caught a ton fish with various lures and methods. Topwater, BFS, Ned, Crankbait. Fish are spread out so I recommend covering as much area as possible. All dinks with a couple of beautiful 2 lbers. Fun day.       Most of the bays/inlets have high grass lines during the summer months. Getting into these bays ion the early morning with a stick has proven to be one of the best tactics during these tough fishing months. My favorite bait has become a tan and brown stick bait fishing in against the bank with a walk the dog style sends these small mouth into a feeding frenzy in which you can almost catch a fish every cast. This window does close pretty fast soon as the sun comes up.
