Captain, Steve here. Lots of navigational hazards from the ramp to any location on the lake. The war Eagle, double Willow‘s blade, spinner bait was the trick around stumps that are plentiful at this time. Aluminum boats, mud, boats or air boats are the safest way to fish the lake right now. The grass mats were submerged about 3 feet, we would throw the fluke out and retrieve slow twitching every now and then. Caught several bass from 3 to 6 pounds.

Work submerged grass with a swim jig paired up with a Gambler EZ swimmer. Bladed jigs work all day as well.

Reports have been tougher fishing during the recent cold front. Most productive bait was a chatter bait. Covering lots of water an varied retrieve.

Flipping the newly grown vegetation from the summertime lake draw down is holding numbers of fish as well as spawning fish. Pegged, 1/2 oz is just enough to get through the grass. Lift and drop 2-4 times then re flip. Black and blue is my go to color.

Fishing spinner baits along the newly submerged vegetation on the levy that separates stick marsh and farm 13 has produced numerous quality fish. Slow roll the spinner bait hanging it up and popping it loose has been triggering most of the bites.
