It was beautiful Fall afternoon with intermittent light wind, perfect conditions for the buzzbait. Action wasn’t exactly fast, but when I found an active fish they crushed it. I only caught 6 bass and two of them were on the small side , the rest were over two and a half pounds with the biggest going 3.63lbs. I also caught several 24ish class pike.

I only had about an hour to fish on the morning of the MN Fishing Opener. I went right to the river mouth on the NW of the lake and was rewarded with some top water action after losing a couple of really nice sized bass on the Chatterbait EVO. The bass I got on the Shower Blows were one to two pounds with a couple of bigger fish that swirled, but didn’t hook up. I hated to leave with fish biting, but I had things to do.
