These fish are built different!!! Fishing in mid July with record low water levels the fish were bunched up in deeper drop offs and ditches. Finding deep water in the river is rare but with these levels 5ft was deep so a shallow diving crankbait to imitate the crawfish which were abundant! Also bringing the Berkley Choppo across these fish would create some aggressive strikes! Casting up and bringing the baits downstream was definitely key because of how these fish set up.If you’ve never fished the river I highly recommend it. These are some of the most aggressive and strongest fish I’ve dealt with! It’s definitely a blast to fish every time I visit!

Fished the Susquehanna river around the Duncannon area. After a 4 day warming trend and the day time temperature in the high 70 degrees, the fish were up shallow on the front of grass islands. Aggressive jerks with a slight pause seemed to get the most bites. The jerkbait needed to be grinding bottom or close to it. I got a few bites when I would rip the lure free from a snag.
