I launched off the warm water ramp in a 12’ jon boat at 10:30am. I fished most around that area. I immediately caught a 19” wiper and two small bass. Maybe 12”. I moved out into the arm which the discharge flows into and caught more bass off of some of the smaller secondary points, switching between shallow and medium diving crankbaits. The bite seemed to slow so I switched to a senko. I caught more all throughout the area and a little ways into the discharge. I had a little action on a texas rigged creature bait as well. My biggest fish was still only about 15”. These fish were on timber, rock, and gravel, and anywhere from the bank to 10’ of water. If shad were there, so were the fish. I did move out to the main lake and caught two off of a point. Moving deeper, I found large schools of shad. I wish I had a little more time to run a couple points and throw some deep presentations. Maybe I would have found some bigger fish.
