Caught fish on beds all day. With such clear water they are very easy to see and typically are catchable within 10 minutes or less. However, It’s best if you can get away from the crowds and find some of the less pressured fish. Any hard bottom you can find will hold fish, however we found our bigger fish bedded next to the bigger boulders we could find.

They were cruising female smallmouth off the sandbar humps with the males starting to make beds in the backs of protected pockets. A Ned rig and swimbait were the main baits to catch those big cruising smallmouth. Some fish were active on rock piles out in deep water and the jig was the best bait to get those fish to commit
