Went out to the dam today to target some summer white bass. During the summer, all the white bass likes to all go to cooler moving water to feed. When I got there I saw a lot of white bass chasing very tiny shad on the surface in the current. So I decided to throw a tiny swimbait to match the size of the bait they were chasing. Today I mostly threw the megabass hazedong shad and keitech easy shiner on a megabass swimbait head. I was throwing this on my megabass orchii whipsnake with a daiwa ballistic mq 2500. I had 15lb braid to 12lb mono leader on. They had the water running at the dam so the bite was pretty good because the current stirs all the shad up and all water is cooler for these white bass. Most the fish I caught today was by throwing to areas where I see fishing busting on the surface. I would catch then every now and then blind casting but most of them where when I saw them on the surface. The areas i was fishing mostly was about 12-15 ft deep with boulders on the bottom . Although i didn’t catch many big keepers, I caught a good amount of fish though.
