What You Need to Know About Fishing West Point Lake

West Point Lake is a man-made reservoir that sits on the boundary of Alabama and Georgia. The Lake was created with the West point Dam on the Chattahoochee River. West Point has a total of nearly 26,000 surface acres and a shoreline of 525 miles. Fishing is a very popular activity on the lake with largemouth bass being a highly targeted species. Many bass in the 1-3-pound range can be found while a bass at 12 pounds was caught a few years ago. In the spring largemouth bass will hold in the shallows through the month of May but can be found throughout the lake on brush piles and among grass beds.
