Rainy and overcast, I expected a moving bait bite, but was unable to generate anything on spinnerbait, crank bait, or buzz bait. Got one hit on a wacky rig and caught one 3# on drop shot, both near dock pilings. Others I talked to had similar results.

Post spawn conditions the bass were holding tight to any type of structure in 5-8 feet. Put over 20 bass in the boat in 2.5 hours. Technique was highly productive.

Fished a club tournament on Lake Anna and found largemouth in different stages of the spawn. Those most willing to bite were post-spawn fish looking to regain some weight. With heavy clouds and drizzle, bass willingly hit topwaters (Megabass PopMax) early, but as that bite died, I had a lot of success on shakey heads with a variety of Zoom and Jackall soft plastics attached. Largemouth bit Trick Worms (black), finesse worms (red bug), Fish Doctors (green pumpkin), and Jackall Flick Shake worms (green pumpkin). Most bass were hanging loosely to docks, but I found a few roaming stump flats and rocky points in Sturgeons and Dukes Creeks.

Pitching laydowns with a black and blue dirty jigs jig and zoom Z crawl June bug trailer on the Potomac River. First time using the new Dobyns Fury 704c rod and I was truly impressed by the action and sensitivity at that price point. We caught over 20 bass today but the biggest was caught on the jig.

The lake is heating up, and the bass have moved up to start the spawn. As usual they were not hitting moving baits they would only hit a whacky style plastic. The zoom trick worm was the key, fishing it in 4 to 5 foot of water in the coves.

Incoming and slack tide fish were very shallow around cypress knees. I stuck with wacky rig. Coangler caught some on swimming and popper both fished slowly. https://youtu.be/v4TQ_Vdcwnk

Be on the look out for beds make sure your leader length between weight an hook is 4 to 5 inches had my big fish for the day was 4.27 it wrapt me up I honestly believe if I didn't have mastiff it would have broke me off also think the thin diameter helped me get the bite after I tried multiple baits with diffrent line

Look for beds in the back of main lake an creek pockets not a whole lot of fish on bed yet so you will have to cover alot of water might see 1 or 2 beds in every pocket

Found pre-spawn fish along and underneath docks with deep water access. Bass were loosely hanging to the docks in low light and moved far underneath docks once the sun got high. Bite was nearly non-existent, so you made to watch your line for movement to detect bites.

Fished throughout the lack and found fish in various stages of the spawn. The most aggressive fish were post-spawn and chasing shallow bluegill around stumps, rocks, and docks. Best bite came late afternoon after showers left the area and the sun began to shine.

Fishing a tournament on the Potomac. I don’t prefer fishing spinnerbaits, but they will come through the pads without snagging and catch fish! 40lb braid mainline with a 15lb fluoro leader. Alberto knot on the braid to fluoro connection and San Diego jam knot on the lure connection.

Expected fish on beds but did not find them. 15mph wind with gusts to 30 kept things interesting and hard to fish main lake points. Caught one good one off a letdown in the back of a windy cove.

Fish were moving up for the spawn they were slamming the Double Colorado Nichols Rado spinnerbait thrown right on the bank. Water was very stained so the coleslaw color with the big Colorado blade was very effective.

Moving baits were key to getting bites in dirty water. No good on a spinnerbait but the ZMan EVO was hooking em good and hard!
