Spawning season and the algae are slowly coming back due to the sunlight. The chatter bait was the perfect bait to float above the submerged plants and this 4lber came and smashed it

Was tossing it near laydowns and thought I had a snag because it was a very subtle pick up. Then tried getting the snag out and my line started moving to the left and then 5 minutes later a 6.25lb large mouth blackbass ready for spawn!

Was using this berkley power bait in the pink color instead of chartreuse fishing for crappie but instead got lucky enough the largemouth could not resist!

Fished all the conditions for the day. The most productive was drop shot. Liking the Shimano mastiff so far as a leader material. Seems to hold up well in heavy cover. Caught em on blades/chatterbait and flippin as well.

Went out for a little afternoon bassin session. South Delta. All outgoing tide. Targeted pockets with laydowns, tules & pennywart. My partner and I both had a bite in the pennywart punching. No catches though. Had one bite on a bladed jig. Caught a couple on a 7" Roboworm with Hayabusa FPP hook. A lot of short strikes even on the dropshot. Partner caught a 6.01 on a wacky rig. We tried a lot of techniques. The cold front and rapidly falling water temps made the fishing tough. Water was 64 and dropped to 60. Make sure to slow way down and soak your baits longer.

Flipping tules and grass all day for 12bs and .3rd place out of 40 guys. The delta is still fishing very tough and no where near typical for this time of year.

Water temps started to rise again. Most spawn areas completely devoid of fish. Some males in transition areas of central delta. A few more days the warm weather will have them up on beds. Caught 10 or so and lost a few larger fish. The males were just moving up with the warmer water.
