Between the three of us, we had to work hard for 9-10 bass. Spots are making their way to their spawning spots, and preparing the spots. We found a few on smaller points, in 8-12 ft of water, the rest were scattered around docks, and channel swings right off points. We couldn’t get consistent bites but managed to get some bites off a variety of baits.

We had a cold snap a couple days before which dropped the water temp back down a few degrees. Fish were still moving around some but not as active as earlier in the week. Different sized a rigs slow reeling in creek channels/points, and around structure snagged most of the fish. The biggest fish of the day came on the Aruku shad, steady reeling on the bottom between a dock and some brush. It’s steadily ramping up for spawn, just taking a bit longer because of the extended winter weather.

Green pumpkin shad chatterbait with the chartreuse shad spunk shad caught one and had another hit on a quick trip later in the afternoon. Caught next to a dock, steady retrieve with occasional twitch. I was using a golden shiner jackhammer first with no luck, switched to the green pumpkin shad and within 4-5 casts had a catch.
