I caught over 30 bass on unpegged Texas rigged senko's in 4-12 feet of water. I was targeting sparse submerged grass clumps that were just barely topped out to the surface. Specifically the grass on the outside of areas with shell beds shallow where bluegills were spawning. I was fishing aggressively ripping and popping the Texas Rig over/through these grass clumps and they were smashing it. Ended up with over 50 bass that day and 36 of them came on an unpegged Texas rigged senko. The other fish came on a walking topwater, spinner baits, and chatterbaits during the early shad spawn and I had a handful on bluegill patterned popping frogs in the pads.

I fished Guntersville this weekend mainly focusing on shallow fish. I started off by catching some solid fish by pitching a texas rigged senko on docks and later caught a lot of fish on a grass edge with a chatterbait in 4-6 ft of water. I caught a lot of fish in the 2-4 pound range but no giants. The bite was pretty good.

They loved the White Jackhammer when it would tick across deeper grass around 8 feet. Used 1/2oz to get deeper while reeling in

Bass were feeding on shad in the morning. Chatterbait worked best. Later in the morning I caught them shallow feeding on bluegill using senkos, frogs, and some other soft plastics.

We fished the north end of Guntersville out of Goose Pond this afternoon. A front came through before we went out so it may have got the fish in a funk. The bite was tough. We caught about 15 fish in 5 hours but not many good ones. We started off ledge fishing and didn’t get bit so we went to a grass edge right next to the main river channel and found fish suspended in about 5-8 ft of water so a shallow jerkbait was a key bait to get bit. We caught about 10 on that pattern but only 1 keepers but did lose a 3 1/2 lb spotted bass right at the boat. Then we moved to some grass in 3-4 ft of water and caught some 3 pounders on a chatterbait to end the day. Find me on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/ @aandwoutdoors
