All of my fish were caught on the outside edge of flats in about 10’ of water. Spent some time looking for bed but never saw any with fish on them.

Finding shallow wood was key this weekend, wood in anywhere from 1-5ft was most productive. Don't overlook small isolated logs, or stumps either as these almost always held fish. As far as bites they usually came on the fall, otherwise, they would come on a slow steady winding retrieve away from the cover. Good luck!

05/15/22 I launched out of Grays Bay and was on the water by 6am. Water temp was in the upper 50's on the main lake and low 60's in shallower bays. We started the day fishing Docks in Robinson Bay. A few small bass were caught off of docks but no crappies. Shortly after we moved into St. Louis Bay just south of where we were. We fished a few docks with no success for crappies. There is a small inlet we moved to and we caught about a half dozen decent sized blue gill and small bass under 10 inches. A few schools of large common carp were viable near the shoreline. As well as a few larger 3-4 lb bass looking to bed. We sight fished a few visible crappies in the shallows near dock posts but they were reluctant bite. We managed to get a couple to bite but lost them at the boat. We fished the bridge pylons on the south side of Carson bay and I hooked into a 4 to 5 lb bass on light fishing tackle that eventually broke me off at the boat. I was using a 6ft ultra light pan fish rod with 4lb fluorocarbon line fishing a 1.5 Northland Mimic Minnow.
