When the sun got high mid - day, the bass hid under docks for shade. Skipping the ned rig under docks and dragging it out would get the to bite without a thought.

Fishing date of 5/22/2022. Cool morning, wake up temp of 48, got up to low 50's and was fairly breezy. Was out about 4 hours. Caught about 8 bass, 3-ish pike. Water temps around 60 up to about 62. Bass seemed to be spawning somewhat, but not all. Definitely caught some pre-spawners as well. Caught some fish on a jerkbait, but primarily more finesse on a ned rig around some docks. Mostly caught small and medium bass. Did see some larger fish on beds, but always tended to be after it was too late and spooked them. Then they had no interest.

Bass were just finished spawning. The bass I saw on beds were not aggressive at all. Found a point with a large flat around 5-8ft on the east side of the lake that you could see pan fish and pike everywhere. Fan casted around and caught about a dozen 1lbers and found a 3.5lb and 4.5lber. Water was green but you could see the bottom in 12ft of water with full sun.

Went out in the morning looking for Bass. I instead came across a school of Walleyes. I ended up catching 6 eyes. All between 21-24".

Wacky worm bass in my tiny SoloCraft. They were hungry this day so didn’t have to throw wacky to get bites but it’s a great technique when tiny boat can get very close to docks this time of the year. 3lbs 6 ounces. A PB for me. I see 4+lbs being caught on this lake so I’ve got work to do.

Beetle jig no spinner looking for panfish off docks at north end of lake system creeks. Caught a largemouth. Water was well above 50degrees in the regional park area. Largemouth seem to be playing shallow in back creeks.
