Found smallmouth and largemouth and pike in small slack water bays with laydowns present adjacent to side channels with heavy current current. Fish were in 4 feet or shallower. Lot of different baits produced but a chatterbait was the most consistent.

Caught some decent largemouth swimming a jig along with a wacky rig and frog on some backwater flats. Finding clean water was key.

Flooded timber with submerged vegetation. Large mouth were holding tight to trees and laydowns.

Water temps are in the high 70s, they made a huge jump from Sunday the 8th at 59-62 degrees to yesterday the 13th 77 degrees. Topwater bite is on.

The main pattern was targetting spawning smallmouth along rocky banks with large boulders, that the smallmouth could make their beds behind. The water was muddy because of recent rains, so a Texas-rigged Beaver worked well on tournament day over a wacky-rigged Senko. I also caught male largemouth up on shallow wood, flipping the same Texas-rigged Beaver.
