Southern part of the lake by aldrich. Focused on channel swing ledges. The fish are tucked close to the bank and the zapper jig was hot today. Also had a Topwater bite in a small pocket on the wind blown side.

Tough day on Stockton for us on Sun 5/29. Water is still way high and lots of trees/bushes in the water so we decided to try shallow but didn't work out. Had 1 fish blow up on topwater but missed it and lost 1 on a spinnerbait in a bush. Water temp was 68 and we put in at Mutton Creek. Always nice to get out on the water!

Stockton is currently about 2 1/2' high and there are some bushes in the water. Up the river, I found some bass super shallow in the shade of the bushes. Between the bluegill spawn, fry guarders, and late spawners, there is still a shallow bite in the pockets, especially in the dirtier water.

Caught fish in the upper portion of the lake where there is more stain to the water. Fished channel points and drops 10’-20’ deep with timber. Green Pumpkin Crock-O-Gator 7.25 COG Work on 5/8 Crock-O-Gator Pro Shaker Head hopped along the bottom.

I started the day targeting shallow wood with a half ounce jig. I got a couple of bites all coming on the fall, this prompted me to pick up the Fat Ika and back glide it. I went back through the areas I got bit on the jig, and began to pick off fish in just about every other laydown I fished. The shallow wood bite is on. Stay in the southern river arms if you're looking to catch better-sized largemouth as the water is more stained and slightly warmer. As you can see from the picture, I was fishing very shallow. Also, if you dip the tube-like appendages in chartreuse it seems to make a difference.
