Pretty slow day today on the river 5/16/22. Mostly overcast skies with some peaks of sun. Only scratched 5 fish. 4 on the hula stickz and 1 on a rage craw. All small bass. But tomorrow is another day!

Great Ned head. The titanium weedguards really helped prolong the bait from getting snagged, and did not impede hooksets. The thicker gauge hook helped me muscle smallmouth out from laydown and various cover. Pricey, but worth it.

Bass season in PA opened over the weekend. Fished the first summer tourney of the year out of Sunbury. Had a fun day blasting post spawn smallies up shallow winding a toad. Had some wild blow ups and put enough in the box for some gas money ending up 3rd. Lunker was 4.20 which is pretty impressive for a non goby eating River rat.

Was using a 1/2 ounce dark sleeper in wagasaki color. Was throwing it through back eddies on 12lb seagar line. Daiwa elite tws reel 6:2 on a megabass swingfire rod. Would cast as far as I could and slow roll it back through the backend of the eddie. Fish were sitting there waiting for a meal.
