The river dropped slightly. It was foggy in the morning. The fish pushed out of the current seams. They were in the shallows rocks in the rip rap. Speed up crashing into rocks was the key to triggering these fish.

I built off of what I learned yesterday. They were not after the spinner bait bite so I switched to a ned rig. It paid off big time in some quality high 3 pound fish. The water level was about the same as yesterday but running clearer. In the morning the fish were more in the 1-3ft range and the afternoon moved to the 3-6ft range. In the afternoon they were picking it up right off the bottom.

The river was running 5’6 on the gauge. I started fishing creek mouths but, ended up pushing out to the current seams of the main river. The bite was consistent. There was also a bonus musky but shook off boat side.

I slow rolled spinner baits over shallow boulders uders. This produced multiple fish in the 2-3 pound range. It was a good bite to get onto. The water was slightly stained but running around 4’

I went for a morning trip. It’s a fish for free day in PA so I wanted to beat all those people out. The river is running about 3.6 on the gauge I go by. Per usual I do struggle when it’s starts flowing around 3.5 on the gauge. I started out by targeting a powerhouse turbine tunnels. Nothing happened there. I then was targeting trees that got stuck on the bottom and behind exposed rocks. I was in 1’ to 3.5’ of water. I managed a real small one on a crank bait. I eventually threw into one of the “deeper” pockets with a Ned rig and a Trd tickler and managed a decent one. It was a short trip.

The water was still dropping from the previous day. The bite was slower. Even though I was fishing prefrontal. I switched to a lighter shroomz for a slower fall. This helped with just ticking the bottom instead of holding it there. Still had a good numbers day with more bigger fish.
