I like braid to leader for flipping brush. I think it helps pull fish out of cover better because the braid doesn’t stretch. The leader helps getting line shy and pressured fish to bite.

Fished a charity event at Boggs, water was SUPER CLEAR. Winning bass were caught with tubes out deep. There were only around ten keepers caught out of a field of 48 anglers. I managed my 15in keep throwing a stupid tube around rocky points.

Still surprised bass are on the main lake instead of back in the coves loading up yet. Caught several unders with a jerkbait along the dam. Water is gin clear and you have to make extremely LONG casts to get bit. Water temp in the low 50s.

Bass are crushing baitfish in shallow water. Look for water activity there they are attacking and throw a weightless soft jerkbait like a 6th sense flush into the fray. Just let it fall, don't twitch or move at all. Same goes for a jerkbait.

Bluegill crankbait around wood landed me one of my best tournaments of the season on Boggs. Tossing around laydowns caught fish most of the day and I finished in the Top 5 again some of the state's top hammers.
