Bass are active on top water in the mornings and evenings. Schooling concentrated around shiners on the edges of flooded brush. Matching the hatch and fishing ambush points are key.

Weather was beautiful, caught around 50 bass. The bass that were under docks were very small. Moved out to 10 fow with submerged vegetation and found some bigger bass schooled up. They couldn't resist the chatter bait and the Yamamoto fat ika on the drop shot!

Making long cast with a frog into submerged vegetation, lily pads and shaded areas worked well. Walking the frog quick with stopping after a few twitches was the best way to get them to bite. Punching in the duckweed right after a miss also helped get a few extra fish in the boat. Ripping a swim jig on the weed edges and through the lily pads produced well as well.

Found a lot of fish in the 5-10 foot range in the weed flats. There was a bluegill spawn going on, so if you could locate the bluegill beds in the weed flats it was like calling shots. They’d smoke a gunfish in the morning but had to switch to a 1/2 jackhammer once the sun came out. I also caught my better ones pitching a D Bomb around the weed edges and bluegill beds.

Floundered the morning away on weedlines before finding the fish dirt shallow. I mean as far as you could launch the frog back dirt shallow. The key was finding breaks in the pad fields in front of the flooded bushes.

2nd tournament of the year went well as we ended up with a 8 pound 3 fish limit. We fished deep docks and caught a lot of numbers but couldn’t find the size we needed.

We found the bass good up shallow early in the day and as the sun got higher we progressively found the fish deeper. Caught a few good bass with the biggest right under 4 pounds.

First time out on Harriet this year and we found a lot of bass. When the sun starting get lowering we saw bass blowing up and eating on the bank. We caught a ton of bass pitching and flipping Texas rigs as close to shore as possible and hopping them aggressively back to the boat. The more erratic action we gave to the bait the better they ate.

This trip was on of the best this year, as the bass finally moved to deep offshore structure. We found most of our big bass on points in 30-20 ft of water. We looked for rock and weeds and when we found both we often caught fish.

Pike were stacked up on deep points with rock and good vegetation. We were targeting bass but the pike were everywhere. I ended up landing 3 pike over 30” on a drop shot using 8 lb line.

Fish were up fairly shallow early and the finesse jig was a major player. As the day wore on we slid out deeper catching them on Neko Rigs and Drop Shots. No truly big fish but lots of bites today.
