Smallmouth can still be found shallow in the morning into early afternoon up shallow in anywhere from 3-7' of water cruising points near reed lines. Work your favorite walking bait fast in the morning for aggressive post spawn smallies, as the sun rises more you can transition to a suspending jerkbait and keep almost the same fast cadence. Keep a small marabou jig close by to target any curious followers. Once the sun gets high.... go for largemouth.
