While practicing for the MLF Big5 event on Sam Rayburn I was looking for off shore fish. I located a large brush pile, and threw both a carolina rig and a drop shot. A drop shot is not talked about much on Sam Rayburn, but is a very good option in the brush piles. Caught a solid fish in deep water in the main lake area on points leading to spawning areas. Used a finesse worm for the lure, and an owner cover shot hook.
