Saylorville Dam in Iowa. Best time to fish these hybrid wipers is when the dam is releasing around 3500-4000 cfs of water down stream. Current water flow may be found online with simple google search. Current water flow when we started fishing was 3500 cfs in the morning and by time we left was 3200 cfs. Best bait was any type of hair jigs in various colors. Hot colors were any brighter colors, otherwise any color all took fish with the brighter colors catching the most. Recommended at least 1/4oz down river from dam and 3/8 to 1 oz closer to the dam. Cast and let hair jig bounce down river and they’ll hit the bait as they see them. Fish species also caught on hair jigs are carp, Buffalo carp, catfish and a few smaller whitebass.
