The bite is good at wheeler right now with the temps cooling. Water temps are in the mid 50s and the bass are up shallow eating a crankbait and a spinnerbait on rip rap. Catching some fish on a minnow at the mouths of creeks as well.

We fished the ASABFA highschool tournament on lake guntersville on November 1st. We placed 29th out of 171 boats with 11.96 pounds. We were able to catch a lot of fish but just not the right ones. We were fishing shallow grass flats in 4-6 ft with the baits listed above. It’s a great way to catch numbers in the fall.

I found that in backs of creeks and pockets where bream where located the bass were in the grass mats feeding on them. In the 4 to 6 foot of water.

Punching heavy mats of grass. 1.5 oz weight, coupled with a craw. Bass were extremely aggressive and hit the craw immediately.

Lake Eufaula is on fire right now! 🔥 and we had another good day yesterday afternoon! Bass are starting to really getting into the transition stage right now but using the Omnia pro app contours and wind direction will help put ya on them 👍🤙 A lot of solid bites came on a spinner bait around the Rip Rap near lake point. However using a black and blue jig near lay downs in Cowikee creek also produce some really good bites. Good luck and tight lines! 👍🤙

Great day fishing at Eufaula Alabama today. A lot of bites were produced using a football jog around lay downs as well as a 7.5 inch worm around lay downs and grass lines.

Caught a 3 pounder and a 1.5 pounder on a football jig and rage craw by a dock by letting it sink and popping it on the bottom.

Throwing right at the edges of the weeds and just bass sitting ALL over the grass. Throw it at points at the weeds and reel right past it and you’ll have one or two.

Dead calm conditions had bass positioned in the brush. The only way we could get them to eat was dragging a jig. Fish were on isolated brush and not the thick stuff out deep.

Bass were positioned on wind blow points. Never got a big bite but you could run a crankbait right in them and they would eat.

Bass were schooling like crazy. Really had to finesse them into biting because they were so keyed in on the billions of shad.

Largemouth Bass were located in extremely thick alligator grass/lily pads that were on a shallow point Riverhead river channel. If you are familiar with alligator grass, then you know one thing is mandatory - 50 LB min BRAIDED LINE. The bass were extremely aggressiv, almost attempting to retaliate against the lure, rather than a typical feeding strike. The trick was to keep the jig near the top of fhr matted grass and be pay close attention to the strikes due to the heavy cover. Kast king braid

Never been big on Texas rig but after reading several reports saying they were hitting gave it a try today. 5 fish all in the 2 lbs range. Working drop offs and shallow water near deeper channels.

Fish were all over the place. There were some deep, shallow, in the grass, brush, suspended. You could fish your strength and get bites. I didn’t make the hall to Decatur. I stayed midways between Browns Ferry and the dam. The day of the tournament I caught them on a jig extremely well. I did catch some throwing a spinnerbait and Chatterbait in the grass.

Focused north of Lake Point Marina, along the main river channel (Chattahoochee). Specifically, largemouth bass were holding (ambushing) prey along emergent grass beds that were placed sporadically along the bank (approx 10 ft off bank). As with any river system, these bass use the grass beds for cover, ambushing, but mainly just to escape the current. This pattern was HOT, but be sure to use typical flipping/pitching gear (50 lbs braid min) due to the heavy cover.

Eufaula has still been producing good bass around boat docks and brush piles. Using a 7.5” worm I various colors with a “un pegged” 3/16 ounce weight had produced the best bites. A spinner bait and walking bait has also produced good fish!

The fish in Guntersville have really decided to move shallow! Obviously there is still a schooling bite, but this day we caught over 50 bass punching! Our bag went 23 pounds anchored down by a 6-2 big fish! - We needed an ounce and a half weight to get through some of the thicker stuff. Most of the fish hit on the first fall, but some were a little more finnickey. We were pretty far north in the lake but I guarantee other matts are starting to heat up by now. - The Xzone Lures adrenaline craw is a go to to immitate bluegill in this little bit cleaner water in the back of these creeks in Matts.
