Caught 5, lost 2 largemouth all on a Z Man Chatterbait & Rapala Crush City Mayor Swimbait. Bass were tight to cover and structure. Large rip rap and boulders were the most successful locations.

There has been a good amount of rain, I caught a couple of 1-2lb sized largemouth bass hiding behind wooded structure along the shoreline. They both hit the rage bug on the initial fall on a weighted 1/8oz 3/0 EWG hook.

fish were caught around remaining grass in the morning. fishing slow with topwater or dragging a senko. later in the day fish were on deeper drops and ditches.

Fished a club tournament and fished docks all day. We were not ble to get any fish in any other bait in any other area. Docks on points with boats were the best producers. Baits had to be carefully skipped under docks into the smallest areas to get fish.

Fished a club tournament on Deep Creek Lake and caught largemouth, smallmouth, walleye, pickerel, and northern pike and a variety of soft plastics. The fish refused to touch moving baits of any kind, but they were perfectly happy eating Texas-, wacky-, ned-, and Carolina-rigged soft plastics, particularly Zoom Trick Worms in black. I went through several bags of them, thanks to the many toothy critters I caught. And, while the bass were few and far between, my co-angler and I had a blast catching several species of fish, including a 15lb northern pike. As I have most of this year, I rigged my Trick Worms on Mustad's Alpha Point Alpha-Grip Finesse hooks. These are amazing hooks - sharp, strong, and easy to rig with a snell knot. Thanks, Omnia Fishing, for introducing me to these hooks for field testing!

Practiced for an upcoming tournament on a beautiful, sunny autumn day on Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland. Caught numerous largemouth holding tight to shaded areas of deep water docks with a drop shot.

Water has cooled considerably and the grass is starting to die. Fished from the mouth of Belmont Bay to Occoquan Regional park. Started with spinnerbait/chatterbait in the submerged grass and a frog in the floating mats. Also threw a buzz bait around the mats. Got a few swirls on the frog, but no serious hits. Only bites came on slow swim worm and shake head. Previous night was near full moon with clear skies. Fishing weather was low 70 degree air temp, bluebird skies. Bites were few and far between. Bait seems to be pushing well back into the Occoquan river.

Fished flats in 3-6' of water with scattered vegetation. slow rolling the swimbait was key. Timing the low tide was also key to getting bit.

fishing was very slow. picked one off here and there. all fish were caught in and around grass at high and low tide. numerous baits worked in many different colors. most all had to be worked slowly.
