Fishing submerged vegetation. Couldn’t get any bites throwing topwater, every time i would see one blow up in the top i would toss the TB underspin on the lm and would get hit on the fall or right after ripping it through some grass

Super slow day with the coldest night we had all year. We found fishing in the back of coves on flats where shad were.

Fishing was tough. Not a great fishery for quality or quantity. But we got a few flipping docks and laydowns

Only one for the day. Nailed. Fluke just off the bank in about 2ft of water. Bass are chasing bait fish. Hard to get them to target a bait when there are so many bait fish for them to eat.

Stoking the blade with a yo-yo retrieve. Seemed to work. Was a one-off fish and only caught the single from the bank. No Kayak his time around. Just junk fishing.

For me deep bite is gone. Bass are out following schools of Shad. Main lake flats and starting in mouth of pockets heading towards backs of creeks. Shaking a minnow following schools feeding on Shad or throwing small under spin around is getting bites. I keep a walking top water ready for when they come up breaking. I like the larger ones that allow me to make a long cast.

Got on the water with Nathan Mountain. Check him out, Nathan Mountain Outdoors, super good dude. Put us on fish when we didn’t see many other folks catching. Found them on rocky points typically around brush. Ott Defoe even ran past us, so you know we were in the right area. Saw some crappie scopin’ but they were very finicky and wouldn’t commit. Fun and beautiful day on the water!

The Chickamauga bass are up shallow and schooling! If you want an exciting day on the water I recommend heading up into 3-5ft of clear water and using your sunglasses to see them. I found multiple schools of 4-8 fish up shallow and would catch them on the top water posted above. This time of year clear water is key so if you can’t find it leave.

Wash fishing stumps in shallow water. Started noticing small blowups in the water. Decided to change to the spinning rod with the baby shad and a 6th Sense Pecos under spin. This guy nailed it on the first cast. Got two more before having to call it quits. They are definitely watching undersized baits. With spinner bait with willow leaf baits were a bust in the same area.
