Water temps started off around 76 and ended at 82 by 3PM with 15 inches of visibility. The lake shows to be 4 feet high and hold steady where they have been keeping it for a while. Make true to get to check depth on 2D and adjust the water levels for safe navigation. I am running the latest software updates on my Garmin units and had to do a negative 4 foot adjust math levels for safe navigation. Concentrated on main lake area on main lake points that has rock close to a drop off when fishing square bill. We come back though the same area with TX rig curly tail worm 10” black with red flake. The darker colors seemed to work best. Most TX rig fish come close to the shore off larger isolated rock or timber. There was a lot of white bass in the same area that would hit crank baits. Large schools of shad would be in the flats next the creek channel or steeper edge in 10 feet of water.

Target points with big boulders on them that create a sort of cove. They're pushing bait into those areas and schooling and feeding. When they're blowing up the sexy dawg got it done, when they're not the spinnerbait and the general got it done.

Went out early in the morning to try and hit the Lake Conroe dam. There was just so much bait fish I figured, temp dropping, maybe an Alabama rig. Nothing, no A-rig bites, no drop shot bites, no FFS bites nothing. Ended up going to some more rock piles and humps in a couple of coves with docks and was able to catch a few little ones. Picture is of the larges bass I caught on the Rapala DT 6. It was a tough day all around, only managed to get 5 fish all day, with only 2 being keepers. Picture is of my biggest one.

After the early Morning bite was over on the dam I went back to the shallow rock piles and rip-rap along the road, bulk-head and bridges. I was trying different things, but Kristie stuck with the ole standby black and blue Dirty Jig Finesse Football jig with half of a Yamamoto 4" black and blue Senko. She was slaying them. Picture is of the larges one off a supe secret rock pile. LOL

Went out to try something different. Minnows were schooling up big time, huge balls of them at the dam. Started off throwing Rapala DT 16 Crank baits, ended up switching to a drop shot. Had a lot of bites but not many got to the boat. Picture is of the biggest one I caught and got in the boat. Ended up going back to the rocks and rip-rap along the roads and bridges.

Bass are positioned on windy points hunting bait fish. I had to downsize to 2.8 and smaller too get the bass to commit. Use bladed baits to mimic schools, such as under spins or spinnerbaits

The bass were at the base of the weedline in 17-20 feet of water. I used my Active Target 2 to see areas that held fish. They would not come up for a jerkbait.
