It was a cold day on this day, so we had to slow down our fishing. Decided to throw on a jig and crawl trailer, did some dragging along the edges of where we usually catch them in the spring/summer and sure enough caught my PB to date! Weighed in at 3lbs!

Throwing sinkos on long points and slowly dragging them were key to getting fish to bite due to all the baitfish being pushed up shallow.

Water clarity has really improved with good green vegetation harder to find. I sidescanned flats to find remaining vegetation and then casting baits through and around submerged vegetation

Found the bass on the deep weedline in 14-16 feet. Wind-blown points were the most productive. The heavy jackhammer worked well, but the 6” Final Copy swimbait caught more and all of the larger ones. Caught a bonus musky on a Spro KGB Chad Shad.

Lots of quality 2lb largemouth caught on laydowns with a chatterbait. Anywhere with wood and some rock seemed to hold bass. Also caught a few on the A-Rig slow rolling it parallel to stretches of laydowns.

Only had a few hours to fish. We couldn’t find the smallmouth, but did find some largemouth on the surviving green weeds. We alternated between a chatterbait and a swim jig depending on the thickness and depth of the weeds.

I was fishing the spinnerbait slowly over vegetation or any kind of cover on the windy side and the bass were just crushing the spinnerbait.

Tough few days at LCO. It was blowing 25-30mph from the south on the main lake during all 3 days so we mainly were limited to areas out of the wind. Most of the fish caught were found on deeper grass outside of shallower areas. Lost a good one on the deep crank but otherwise everything else was under 2lbs. Some smallmouth were found on rocky flats in the afternoon as the water warmed. Not sure when the lake turned over and if that had an effect but either way it was grindy.

Good day of fishing. Fish were sitting on weed edges adjacent to steep contour drop offs. Today they wanted a little larger baitfish profile compared to a mooch minnow. Managed to get some nicer quality of fishing like this 3.5 lb largemouth.

Retrieved over the top of the rock pile varrying the speed to induce strikes.

Using a Texas rig on a shank hook, with a drop shot weight. Casting out by the shore line, under structures. Let the night crawler sink to the bottom and slowly finesse the bait, jerking it up and down, then stopping for a few moments till the night crawler hook sets in.
