When out in the kayak and wore them out on jigs fishing flooded trees/brush in 5 to 12 ft of water. Was able to find a huge concentration of bass on a small stretch of brush. Rotated between a 1/2 and 5/8 oz jig using the Daiwa Tatula Elite Cory Johnston Flipping rod. About every cast you would get bit, you have to weed through little ones for a big bite.

Majority of the fish we found this trip were out on the deep ends of points before the drop off. Threw drop shots all day and wore them out. All of the bigger bass came off the Missile Baits Magic worm in Missile morning. Using a 1/4 oz weight and almost dragging it. Every once in a while give it a few shakes of the rod. Hopefully this helps y’all out.

Brush-piles at 20ft, main lake seemed to hold bigger fish both Largemouth and Smallmouth. Also caught a few Spots on dropshot in the trees using Geecrack Bellows gill 2.8" with a Mustad Alpha-Grip #1. All in the Midlake area.

Fishing the wacky rig right up next to flood timber away from the bank yielded a fun day on the water. Junebug colored in stained water with spinning gear and the new Mustad Alpha Point's was king.

During this fishing trip, we dominated with the Missile Baits Magic worm. That was paired with the Mustad alpha point finesse hook on a drop shot. Starting to really notice the hook up ratio is becoming better and better. Compared to other brands, Mustad has truly improved with this Alpha Point series!

Pulled off a 2nd place finish as well as the big bass of the tournament Saturday. My main approach was to go shallow around the grass and grind out a few bites. Which turned out to be one of the best days of kayak fishing I’ve had! Caught of 50 bass on the Evergreen Grass Ripper paired with a Menace Grub trailer. Caught some better that average bass as well as flipping a DBomb with the new Mustad Alpha point flipping hook. Once you set the hook, the fish will not be coming off.

First trip using the new Mustad Alpha Grip finesse hook and I am very impressed! Hook up ratio with this hook is fantastic and rigging worms is very easy. Pairing it with a Missile Baits Magic Worm, it’s become a staple in my drop shot arsenal. Fishing mainly brush piles and even pulled out this 5lb chunk on the new hook. If you’re looking for a new hook to try, pick up some of these new Mustads and keep those fish pinned!
