Fished the outgoing tide from 9:00-11:00. Not much reaction bite going on—assume it was the recent full moon that slowed down the bite. Earlier in the week had lots of followers on a chatterbait, but this day we had to really slow down and hit isolated cover in weed pockets with a dropshot to get fish to commit. Pitched a dropshot to specific high percentage targets with moving water and in the trough between the cover and weed line for some decent success. Fish were a little bigger doing this and got my son on some fish for a successful trip out on the water for him. Kid was a natural!

Got a late start and fished the last 2 hours of the outgoing tide. Full moon is tomorrow and the fish would follow chatterbait but not commit. Pitched a Senko in the same area and picked off a half dozen fish in the tulles. Saw several hanging out in the shallows during the slack tide and put a Senko right next to them and they would take off with it immediately.

Fished the last couple of hours of the outgoing tide and the slack tide. While the water was moving and wind blowing—fish were actively chasing the chatterbait and it was a great numbers lure. You really have to cull through a lot of the smaller fish before they start getting 2-3 pounds or more. Once the water stopped moving and it went slack—the dropshot along weed edges was the ticket to pick up some more bites.

Fished the evening bite with an incoming tide. The wind was howling at 20+ mph with current ripping in so boat positioning was tough. Fished the Choppo near isolated tulles reeling in with a slow bubbling action and it would get crushed within a handful of turns right next to the isolated cover. Fished shallow and deep and the fish were very active. Punch bit was alive as well, but the water and wind movement made it really difficult to keep in position for any amount of time. Punching 2 foot of water with the rear of the boat sitting in 10+ feet.

Pretty windy morning with strong gusts. Fished a chatterbait against the riprap casting into the trough and working the lure through the weed line. Fished were hammering the chatterbait as soon as it broke through the weed line—very consistent bite all morning working this pattern.

The crank bait bite was good till around 9am rotated between a 5 &6xd depending on depth. Key was deflecting bait of submerged rock and trees on little secondary points or saddles. The free rig with the bull flat accounted for by biggest bass of the day.

Zero reaction bites—spent the whole day soaking a Senko right on any riprap banks we found for good success. Pitched a bigger size Senko to entice some bigger bites and it worked!

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to fish. I get up close on any banks with overhangs or grass lines, with quick casts, 8 to 10 feet of retrieve, then a quick reel back and do it again. Accurate casting is key! If you hit your spot, the odds increase so much. The bass are really tucked in tight to the bank. If you can skip under the overhangs, it's even better. (I'm still working on that skill....) Fun Day!

Had myself a day on the Delta! The Jack Hammer with the Zoom Split tail trailer was just killing it! Casting into/under any brush overhanging the water, as close to the shoreline as I could get, and then hold on. Got the triple crown, catching Spotties, Large Mouth and Smallies. Even had my third double-up of the year on 6th Sense medium dive Crank Bait. Sending a crank bait next to any pilings was on fire today.

Actually fished both Saturday and Sunday. Super calm, bluebird sky on Saturday. "Perfect conditions"... I threw everything I had in the boat on Saturday and how a person can fish 10 hours on the "Best bass lake in the Country" and catch only one bass...well, it's just not the best bass lake in the country. For better news....On Sunday, I only had 4 hours to fish before I had to leave. I left everything else in the boat and just threw the trusty wacky rig at and around docks and tree overhangs. It was windy, with very large rolling waves all morning. So bad you couldn't stand unassisted by a chair. But it was a great four hours of fishing. The picture was the result of my last cast of the day, at the boat dock casting to a small shrub with some grass in about 12 inches of water that was literally 10 feet from the ramp. Sometimes, we can make bass fishing too complicated. If the going is rough...grab a Senko and catch some fish. I left the lake very unhappy on Saturday and had complete attitude adjustment on Sunday.
