Fished for a few hours on Father's Day in the rain. Fishing was still slow like it is at Piney Run but managed a few bass fishing the outside edge of the lily pads using a drop shot. We also tried main lake points but had no success.

Launched from Green Bridge Ramp around 6:45AM and fished until 11:45. Fished to the right along the shoreline and then across next to the buoys. The initial bites came on the large flat directly across from the boat ramp on worms and neko rigs. There were quite a few fish hitting the surface but would not chase lures. Kept heading north along the right shoreline and got a nice largemouth on a zoom trick worm next to wood on the outside point of one of the coves. After the rain stopped, the wind picked up and caught a few bass on the megabass jerkbait next to some shallow grass. Also got a nice chain pickerel as well. The nicest fish came on a Jackall pikupiku top water around 10am in a very shallow cove. The Pikupiku also got a few more topwater fish.

Saw a lot of movement in the spatterdock and caught a few flipping/punching near high tide. After the tide went out, caught more on an ozark rig stickbait with a screw lock spinner on the tail along grass edges.

Fished the evening on the Potomac. Fished the last of the incoming and the start of the outgoing before daylight ran out. The tide didn’t give us the greatest conditions (last couple hours of outgoing would have been best). I found some success throwing a watermelon red Fluke in the submerged grass and twitching it through. I throw my flukes on my jerk bait/light crankbait rod. I use a snap with the fluke on the superline hook and still get great action on the bait. Light breeze and partly cloudy skies.

fish were caught around grass, especially in the morning. moving in and out with the tide was key. once the morning topwater bite died off, fishing slow around grass produced bites.

Fished pads at low tide with a frog. Caught a few, missed a few. The usual frog fishing. Moved out to sparse grass bay and threw the cut r worm past chunks of grass. Reeling the worm about as slow as I could. Caught a couple of shorts on a dropshot too but nothing culled.

Fished a club tournament on the Lower Potomac River and caught numerous largemouth bass on a combination of lightly weighted 4" Yamamoto Senkos in Fire Craw and Berkley 7" Power Worms in Blue Fleck. Bass were positioned next to scattered clumps of grass, specifically eel grass and milfoil. The bite was aggressive for the first 45 minutes as the tide was going out. The bite slowed significantly once the tide stopped moving out and during slack tide. The bite slowly picked up again as the tide began rolling in and continued until the tide went slack again in the early afternoon. I was fortunate enough to get a sample/test pack of Mustad Alpha Point Alpha-Grip Finesse Hooks from Omnia a month ago, and they have become my go-to hook. Don't let the "Finesse" tag scare you - these hooks are super sharp and super strong!

Caught a nice 4lb 7oz bass on a wacky rigged senko. Purple Emerald flake is an absolute killer in summer on the Potomac.

Fished a club tournament on Little Seneca Lake in Black Hill Regional Park in sweltering heat and humidity. The fishing was slow, but I was able to catch a quality limit, including this 4lb chunk, by fishing deep points with an Ike's Mini Flip Jig. I tried a 1/2oz jig since I was fishing depths of 23 to 35 feet, but I could only get bit when I switched to a 3/8oz jig. The fish seemed to like the slower fall of the lighter jig in the warm water.
