Switched from ribbontail Texas rig to a Ned rig and got a bite within 2 casts of switching. 3lb largemouth sitting on ledges between 10 and 15 feet of water.

High of 84°F, partly cloudy, wind 5–8mph out of the SE. Temperatures dropped drastically from last week’s heat wave, which saw multiple days over 100°F. About 2 inches of rain fell spread out through the week, helping cool the water temp down from almost 90 degrees to 83 degrees. We found success dragging hard head football jigs paired with a Rapala Crush City Bronco Big in Greenpumpkin/Watermelon across main lake points with stumps. Pausing the bait and not constantly dragging or hopping the bait was key to getting bites. Some quality fish came on a Heddon Super Spook in bone color fished across the same points later in the evening as the sun went down. The spook got the big fish of the day weighing in at 5.4 pounds.

High of 86°F, NW wind at 6mph, relatively calm and sunny with some cloud cover mixed in throughout the day. Bass have wrapped up spawning and moved to their post spawn summer areas off shore. Most of our fish came on a pegged 1/4oz Texas rig with a big 7 to 10 inch curly tail worm fished along deep grass edges. It was key to let the worm sit still for long periods of time before hopping it off the bottom. A few fish also came on a Bandit 200 series crankbait burned across the top of the grass. Most fish were sitting in 6 to 8 feet of water.

Air temps during the day have been above 100 degrees for a week straight, water temps are in the high 80s, during sunset largemouths are moving out of deep summer holding area into shallow waters. I caught this 3lber on a football jig in around 17.5 feet of water

Fished a club tournament on the Upper Bay and did quite well. I found fish in and around eel grass beds on flats with water depths on 1 to 3 feet of water. I caught a quick limit, surprisingly during slack tide, on a Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper in Sexy Shad. I rigged the Dipper on an Owner Beast 6/0 Hook with a 1/4 ounce keel weight. I later upgraded my limit with a 3lb, 5oz largemouth that I caught on a 3/8oz Z-Man Jackhammer in BHite Delight. I also upgraded a few times with a Zoom Speed Worm that I rigged on a super-sharp Mustad Alpha Point Alpha-Grip 3/0 Finesse Hook.

Fishing off a ledge on one of the main points of the lake. Drop off was from 14 ft to 26 ft. Largemouth took the Yum Dinger Texas Rig weightless and weedless on a 4/0 EWG Hook with a screw lock. Largemouth bit it on the initial fall.

Weightless Weedless Green Pumpkin Rage Bug on a 3/0 EWG Hook with a screw lock. 15lb Flurocarbon leader on 20lb Braid. Slow retrieve speed. Bass took the bait as it was dropping in water column when I killed the retrieve.

Threw everything from deep crankbaits, buzz baits, jointed swim baits & wacky worms, but only got hook-ups on the O'l Monster curly-tail worm. Drug it over and through the grasses on humps and down the ledges.

Fished a club tournament and had a great day on the Lower Potomac! Started fishing a rising tide around hard cover, including wood and rocks, but the bites were few. I was, however, to catch a nice 3lb, 5oz largemouth on a black and blue jig as high tide approached, but I decided to run the tides and find more aggressive bass once the tide turned and began falling. My strategy paid off, and I found willing biters in submerged hydrilla and milfoil. I caught many largemouth over the next few hours on a Jack Hammer in Bhite Delight and a 4" DieZel Minnow trailer. My largest largemouth was a 3lb, 14oz fish that slammed the Jack Hammer like he hadn't eaten in days. My best 5 fish weighed a respectable 14lbs, 6oz.

Fished for a few hours on Father's Day in the rain. Fishing was still slow like it is at Piney Run but managed a few bass fishing the outside edge of the lily pads using a drop shot. We also tried main lake points but had no success.

Launched from Green Bridge Ramp around 6:45AM and fished until 11:45. Fished to the right along the shoreline and then across next to the buoys. The initial bites came on the large flat directly across from the boat ramp on worms and neko rigs. There were quite a few fish hitting the surface but would not chase lures. Kept heading north along the right shoreline and got a nice largemouth on a zoom trick worm next to wood on the outside point of one of the coves. After the rain stopped, the wind picked up and caught a few bass on the megabass jerkbait next to some shallow grass. Also got a nice chain pickerel as well. The nicest fish came on a Jackall pikupiku top water around 10am in a very shallow cove. The Pikupiku also got a few more topwater fish.

Slow day but got some good bites on a dropshot around grass. On points or just running the back near deeper water.
