Casted from the bank to a place where there is submerged vegetation. Steady retrieve. Also works doing the Alabama Shake retrieve. Pic looks a little crazy due to a nice sized bass I just caught that wrecked the trailer!

We were finding our fish on shallower and mid depth rocky points. The points could be secondary or main lake but had to have deep water close by. The fish seem to be setting up shallower than in years past in that 8 to 15 ft. We caught a load of fish just throwing the chatterbait if they were suspended and the worm if they were in the bottom. Bite seems to hold good around most of the lake some points have them and some don’t. Points with wind were a touch better but wasn’t much of a breeze last night. Follow me on Tik Tok instagram and Facebook to stay up to date on all my fishing shenanigans.

Last Joe Bass tournament of the regular season. Rain set in early and stayed all day. Several shorts were caught (and missed) on a buzzbait early. Followed up by several bites on the ever popular 3xd. Water has been low and recent rainfall didn't seem to affect anything.

It was a very slow day fishing flooded willows and bushes, but the wacky rig still got bit. Once the sun was up skipping as far into the shade as possible was key. The Owner weedless hook was critical to not getting hung up deep in the cover.

I was able to get on a couple different patterns. I started the morning off covering water with topwater, chatterbait, and squarebill. I was catching good numbers of small ones on the bank but no size. So I moved out due to the water falling over the last week (0.75 ft) thinking maybe they had slid out to 4-10 foot. I started catching some small keepers skipping docks but not the size I was needing to win. Next I moved out to isolated brush piles in 8-12” and caught a 5.08 with the Texas rig. I didn’t have enough piles marked to run this pattern all day but kept looking for more near docks due to the sun coming out. I never got another good one in the boat but I think if you have piles found in that depth range and would run them all day you could put a quality bag together. Also think topwater bite will get good soon…….just need water to stabilize and have some more cool nights for it to get going. If you just want bites I would throw a squarebill and cover water. I probably caught 10 fish in the first 30-45 min but the biggest was 12”.
