Took my kayak out and fished from around 6am-10am. Caught 7 bass and 1 pickerel, nothing large but the numbers are there. There’s a lot of underwater grass everywhere so I rigged the drop shot weedless. I had the best luck catching fish casting into deeper grass, maybe 10+ ft of water. Didn’t target edges or anything specific, just threw the drop shot into the middle of some grass and dragged it back slowly.

Ledges
Fished for around 3.5 hours starting at sunrise. Managed to catch two bass along the same part of a ledge. They hit towards the shallower side/transition area of the ledge. My kayak was positioned over the deep end and I was casting into the shallow portion.

Fished from 6am to 9am, launching from the Lower Farrington Boat Ramp off Hardenburg Ln. Caught 5 bass, all following the same pattern of sitting at the deep/outside edge of laydowns. I followed the bank and targeted visible structure. Was more successful on the shaded side than the sunny side of the lake. The lake does have pretty steep ledges and I thought that maybe the bass would be deep since it was summer, but I couldn’t locate any bass on the deep side of the ledges. I used the drop shot roboworm and caught two bass but then I got snagged and broke it off. Switched to the ned rig after and caught three more. The bass weren’t super deep in the lay downs so I was able to get away with using an exposed hook (until I wasn’t and snagged).

No clouds in the sky. Fished this morning for 4 hours and caught 2 bass, one 14in one 17in. Both were caught in deeper water, 5-10ft of water with some kind of vegetation on the bottom.

Fished this morning from the kayak for about 5 hours. Caught 4 largemouth bass between 12-14in. Sunny day with some wind, water is extremely clear here. I was struggling fishing the standing timber, getting snagged and no bites. I ended up switching to fishing submerged weeds on the north side and caught all my bass there. I targeted 10-15ft depth and dropoffs in the weeds.

Fished from the bank for 3 hours in the morning with my cousin. Water clarity at Rising Sun Lake is much clearer than the other lakes in the area I’ve been to, even with all the recent rain it was still maybe 3 ft of clarity. Weather was overcast and foggy. My cousin caught 1 bass, lost 2 bass on the ned rig. I caught 3 bass, lost 1 bass, caught 1 pickerel on the ned rig. Snagged and broke off on the rocks, retied a 3in swimbait, and caught a crappie and another pickerel afterwards. All the fish were pretty small, bass were all <12in. Tons of baby bass and bluegill could be spotted from shore. The entire north shoreline is fishable from the bank, just make sure to wear long pants and use bugspray since there is walking through long grass/bushes/thorns, and wear some footwear to walk on rocks with. The rocks are pretty slippery so be careful!

Fished from a kayak for 6 hours starting around 6am. Overcast day with no rain, water clarity was between 1-2 ft. Was a great day fishing caught 6 bass, smallest was 9in, largest (pic) was 18in, and average was just shy of 15in. Bass were everywhere, I caught one by the boat launch pier before jumping in my kayak. 3 were caught in shallow submerged weeds to the north side (my guess that they were in weeds since some retrieves would snag on weeds). 2 were caught at deep ledges in the middle and the west side. I used the ned rig for every bass except one, because I snagged and broke it off. Last bass was caught on a drop shot.

Standing Timber
Fished the north end from a kayak for 4 hours, caught 4 largemouth bass and 1 Weather was cloudy with light drizzles. The water clarity was incredibly low, <1 ft, probably due to all the recent rain. I think most of the bass were deep, 3/4 were caught on some offshore structure away from the bank. 2/4 were caught using a ned rig targeting standing timber where the top I spotted poking out of the water. 1/4 was caught on a jerkbait at a ledge. 1/4 was caught by the bank with the ned rig.

Fished the north side of Turkey Swamp Park from the bank for a little over an hour in the morning with my cousin. We only managed to catch this one small bass throwing the ned rig along the bank in the shade of a tree. There’s a lot of grass/weeds throughout the lake so we were having a little bit of trouble with the exposed hook on the ned rig. Probably would’ve been better off Texas rigging a 4in senko/dinger.
