Wind was ripping 30-40 mph today, so spent time fishing the cuts. Picked up some good ones flipping jigs under docks and around shoreline rocks / wood. I’d hit everything with the jig then come back through with a neko rig. Solid number of fish on both, ranging from ~1 to 3.5 pounds. As the sun came up and the heat increased the fish really started relating to shade.

Water temps are rising into the mid 70’s and the fish are finally starting to transition to summer patterns. Drop shotting homemade rubber dice and Xzone Deception Worms along the weed edges was productive. We were also able to drag 1/2 ounce football jigs to pick off a few of the better fish. Weekend recreational boaters were abound no matter where we tried to get away from them.

Casted up shallow in about 3-4ft water and worked it out towards 7ft of water. Tend to get a lot of my bites when my plastic was flapping in the water with its claws.

Fun tournament on the Mississippi River. Key to our fish was finding areas with current still flowing through with a variety mix of vegetation and hearing the bluegills popping. If the gills weren't popping you want to keep moving.

Discovered a nice frog bite in the pads. Fish everywhere in the thick stuff. Bomb casts into the pads getting fish way up in there all the way up to the edge. Has some nice 4 pound blowups that got the blood pumping for sure!

Fished the MN Bass Nation HS State Tournament. Monster player was the White OutKast Heavy Cover Pro swim jig off the bank in about 3-4 ft in a flat of sparse weeds! Water was very dirty so bright white was a must. Beat an area for our 10 key bites clinching a nice top 10! Solid way to end the 2024 season

Caught this largemouth in some thick vegetation. Fishing a frog through it got him to come up and eat it.

Fish were stacked all along the weed line, flipping a craw tube, and also an adrenaline craw. Also tried some docs and pads, but definitely the Matted milfoil was the best.

Went pre-fishing down in Mississippi and found a lot of big fish in flooded trees and stumps was just throwing a swim jig over the top of them would come unglued right away or they would follow it to the boat. It was a blast!

This was the BASS state tournament on pools four and five. Day one and day two we had a big school of largemouth on a sand drop with hard bottom and weeds, which was very successful both days and then had one wing down that was producing better than average smallmouth. Ended the tourney in 10th and had 28 for two days.

Late summer early fall, largies are leaving grass but can still.be frogged, and both species are moving to current and sand and rocks. Cover water with walking topwaters and slow down with c rig to clean up good areas.

The fall bite turned on early up in Northern WI! Just before I left for school I made a run to a couple lakes. Most lakes had fish blowing through schools of bait, and I targeted these fish with a Damiki rig. However, our most consistent bite was on rock piles - most;y chunk rock - in 19ft-29ft of water. This lake is pretty clear, so deep water is your friend. We caught a fish almost every cast in the last couple hours of sunlight, but we got bit consistently all day. I was dragging a football jig and caught both numbers and size. My girlfriend caught quite a few almost strolling a swimjig over the tops of the rock piles. It seemed to be the only thing that the bigger fish would come up for. As for trailer, it did not seem to matter, some fish choked it and others were totally inactive. The 5/0 hook on the 6th sense Divine Swimjig was also key to landing a lot of the bigger fish.
