The bite was shallow early on with steady action on the Pig Stick. As the day wore on we slid out a little deeper and did the bulk of our damage on a Neko rig.

Today was what dreams are made of! It was an absolute pleasure guiding this father-and-son team. They worked hard, stayed versatile, and adapted to the conditions—and the largemouth bass rewarded them for it. The fish cooperated, we caught plenty of bass, and, most importantly, made memories that will last a lifetime. Days like these are what guiding is all about.

Today's clients hit Fox Lake, and the wind kept us on our toes all afternoon. We stayed mobile, targeting weed edges and letting the wind dictate our approach. Throughout the day, we constantly adjusted by switching swim jig colors, weights, and trailers to stay on the fish. We rotated between 1/4-ounce and 3/8-ounce swim jigs, experimenting with a variety of colors including Black & Blue, Money Craw, Dirty Craw, Sexy Shad, White, and other forage-matching patterns. We paired them with CrushCity trailers, Rage Craws, and Speed Craws to find the right combination. The adjustments paid off. From 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM, the action stayed steady, and my clients put a lot of largemouth bass in the boat. Most importantly, they had a great time on the water and learned how small changes can make a big difference when conditions are challenging. Another great day chasing bass on Fox Lake!

Slow, hot summer day. Caught all my fish on a drop shot with a 4.5” Robo worm / VMC Finesse Neko hook, senko and a Neko Rig casting to weed edges near deeper water. Slow and patience were key.
