Tough bite lately but we did manage to get some fish in the boat. Big fish came on a jig with a craw trailer including a 5lb largemouth.

Fished the back of a creek along shorelines and under bridges in the area. Most bites came over duck weed blown into the shallow water near the banks.

Fished the river and the large, grassy flat outside of the river in Kegonsa. The buzzbait was working over submerged grass, right next to matted grass in the river. Out in the large grassy flat, the chatterbait was working. Fished mostly in 6 to 10 foot of water. The bass were very spread out. I recommend drifting across the entire area and fan casting.

Went out mid morning and caught some frog fishing lily pads! Seemed like the points of the lily pads that had current or wind had the most activity. Could see them chasing baitfish so also pulled a spinnerbait through the open lanes. 🐸 🎣

Bluegill were along edge of points on grass edge. Had to find vegetation with current on the points to be productive. Current was key.

Docks
Got out about 6am. Just casting in between and under docks on the west side of the lake and we pulled in 6 nice large mouths in the boat in the matter of a few hours. They were hitting the bladed jigs hard.

Deep ends of docks held the most fish, and the more vegetation around the end of the dock better the bite.

Fish the laydowns with shade. Texas rig tight against the laydowns worked best.

My wife got on a good school of fish that were all in shallower water above submerged grass. Slow retrieve keeping the bait above the top of the grass.

Was able to find bass both shallow, 5-7FOW, and deeper, 10-14FOW, on points. More of a dead stick approach, and patience was rewarded with a good day of none too big but had good number caught which made a good morning out.

Caught both largemouth and smallmouth in outside channel bends where current pushed up against the bank, best areas were undercut banks or had laydowns. Jerkbait produced more numbers but all the bigger fish came on the jig with chunk trailer.
